The 2017 HRS Mailout Spring Life History Mail Survey (LHMS) (v.2.0) is now available.
The Life History Mail Survey 2017 Spring (LHMS 2017 Spring) contains questions about residential, education, employment and health history, and other important childhood and family events. The LHMS is part of the Health and Retirement Study (HRS), which is funded under a cooperative agreement between the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and the Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan.
The field period for the 2017 Spring LHMS was June 2017 through December 2017. The data file for the 2017 Spring LHMS contains 539 variables, and data for 3,844 respondents. The simple response rate for the 2017 Spring LHMS is 74 percent.
Version 2.0 includes additional data for the LH41c and LH41d series that were inadvertently excluded from version 1.0. Please see the data description for details about the specific variables affected by this update.
